First full day at ECHO’s new office, north near Highland Mall. The new location adds about 20 minutes to my commute, but it’s not that big of a deal (at least, not yet) because it means I get to ride the MetroRail, which, as someone who’s ridden the bus for the past 6 months, is incredible.
Used the 20 minute train ride to work on some Weakening LR questions out of the Powerscore LR Question Type Training (Volume II) book. When I was studying for the LSAT last year, I couldn’t get my hands on LSAT preptests 21-40, so I purchased this book to have some access to some of the questions. I never used this PS book, though, and I’m not sure how much I will use it, but I want to at least try drilling questions by type out of this book.
Did another 15 minutes or so on the bus (yes–bus) ride back. Drilled about 8 parallel reasoning/flawed parallel reasoning questions in that time.
Things I need to work on:
- Recognizing logical structure when the conditionals aren’t obvious
- Recognizing logical structure without diagramming
- Skimming for structure
- eliminating answers that are out of scope immediately based on structure
All of these are related, and most (except maybe skimming) will come with extensive practice (I hope).
Finished up the night with a timed section, 58.3. Logic Games.
Went 23/23 with time to spare, so feeling good about that, but it was a really easy section. Last game was a little tricky, but the first three were cake.
There are many more 9:30pm sections in my near future. Not at all acclimated with late night test work. It’s gonna take some getting used to.
Bed now, closing out the night with some Audio Dharma.
