Shitty day overall. Was mentally prepared for a longer workout today, but my body wasn’t having it. After the 500 free pull warmup, I wanted to go into a 1650 free, but by this point my shoulders, especially my right shoulder, were flaring up. It wasn’t the good kind of pain–I know what DOMS feels like–it was more of a pinching sensation on the top of my shoulders. Idk how to explain it except for seriously uncomfortable such that it scared me.

Don’t want to tear my rotator cuff, ya know. Not that I know what a rotator cuff is.

I took plenty of swimming lessons when I was a kid, but my technique is far from perfect. And although swimming is one of the safest (?) exercises you can do, injuries are still possible, especially with poor form. So but then I was thinking I’m probably ok, I’ve just been doing almost exclusively freestyle recently and my body is adjusting. It’s like extreme DOMS or bone realignment or growth hormones or some shit. What even is science.

I did somewhere between 1600 and 2200 today but the workout was ruined when I failed the 1650–after that, there was no rhyme or reason to what I swam.
